As part of an educational series, SEMARA will be offering an opportunity to learn about digital modes of operation. The program will start with a brief presentation and then lead into actual operating practice. The date for this event is Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. If you have expertise in this field, please come and coach. If you are new to digital modes, please come to learn.

Although walk-ins are welcome, we recommend that you contact us ahead of time if you plan to attend an upcoming session.

The Genesis Amateur Radio Society (GARS) will be conducting a Technician License Course in April and May. The Saturday classes will be held from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM on the following three dates:
A VE exam will follows the last class on May 5th.
Classes and exam are on the ground floor classroom and is handicap accessible at:

This course will use the MFJ-3211 Technician Quick Study Guide, which gives only correct answers and will be needed for homework assignments. The cost of guide is $12.95 and can be obtained by calling MFJ at 800-647-1800 x4. The cost of the VE exam will be $15.00.

Falmouth Amateur Radio Association (FARA)
Amateur (“Ham”) Radio Technician Class License CourseThe Falmouth Amateur Radio Association (FARA) is holding a Technician class licensing course over the course of three Saturdays – March 17, 24 and 31. It will be held from 9AM to noon at the Falmouth Fire Rescue Department headquarters, 399 Main Street (entrance on King Street), in the 2nd Floor EOC/training room.
The exam for the students will be held in the same location immediately after the March 31 session.
Cost of the class is $50 and includes:
1) Nine hours of classroom instruction
2) Manual
3) Online test practice and tutoring
4) Refreshments
5) Access to instructors for questions & tutoring
6) License exam
7) 1-year membership with FARA
8) Admission to the 2018 FARAfest
9) Radio (if the student passes)This is a great value for anyone seeking to get their license, as the total cost of the individual items is well over $100.
