It is with great regret that we announce the passing of John J. Majkut, W1HIQ. John passed away in the company of his wife, Mary, on Tuesday afternoon at the Dana Faber center in Boston after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral arrangements will be made through the Auclair funeral home in Fall River and the details are below.

It is with great regret that we announce the passing of Dr. Irving R. Snyder, WA1ETG aged 90. He died at home Wednesday, September 16, 2009 shortly before 7PM. Irving was a familiar voice on the W1AEC repeater every evening at 7PM, participating in the Camel net. Irving was a gentleman and was always welcoming to anyone who joined the net. He will be missed.
John Carreiro, W1ZYV writes on the SEMARA mailing list that Arthur Valois, formerly W1UID has passed away:
A very long time member of our club has passed away. Though Art was on the quiet side, he was a very active and heroic WWII Army Air Core soldier. He flew many missions over Europe. He was mostly a nose gunner on B17’s and B24’s.

It is with deep regret and sadness to report the passing of long time SEMARA member, KD1DA, a dependable VE and very active in New Bedford Emergency Management. Chuck was a regular SEMARA meeting attendee and will be missed by all.
It is with deep regret and sadness to report the passing of long time SEMARA member, W1ATI. Norm was a regular on the nightly “Camel Net” on the club repeater. Norm was very active in club events over the years and will be missed.

The Camel round-table net on February 5, 2007 at 7:00 PM on the SEMARA 147.000 repeater had several check-ins, with many sharing their thoughts on Bill’s passing. The net lasted approximately 38 minutes.
