Hi All:
Following up on our successful Field Day SEMARA will be participating in Winter Field Day (WFD) as 3I (3 transmitter indoor) January 25^th and 26^th . Winter Field Day, like ARRL Field Day, is not a contest but an attempt to simulate contacts during an emergency.
If you have operated WFD before there have been significant changes made to the Winter Field Day rules for 2025 <https://winterfieldday.org/sop.php>. The entire scoring system has been revised, with “Objectives & Multipliers” awarded for completing various tasks (like making at least one contact on six bands, making a satellite contact, sending a WinLink message, etc.). We will be trying to hit a few of these for this contest.
This is a 30-hour contest running from 11AM EST Saturday to 5:00PM EST Sunday. My goal will be to be on site operating from 11AM-5PM ET each day. I really think the club has a first class operating station that doesn’t see enough use – There are three operating positions, so come on by!
